As we say goodbye to Andrea Whipple-Samuel, Lucy Greco and the Digital Accessibility team would like to share our gratitude and give a special thanks and shout out to Andrea for her hard work and dedication to digital accessibility, particularly with the remediation of PDF content.

Among other things at Berkeley, Andrea coordinated the UCB policy creation and approval process, and she managed the policy distribution on the Office of Ethics, Risk and Compliance Services website.

We’re pleased to share with you the timeline for Berkeley’s migration from a shared UC account in Siteimprove to our own account. Having our own account will improve performance and enable us to improve user permissions and features.

Change freeze - no new sites or users will be added to the old account. Decisions you make to spelling and broken links after this date will not migrate.

We’re excited to announce that in April, Berkeley will launch its own Siteimprove account. We are confident this will provide the best possible user experience for our community.

The Digital Accessibility Program (DAP) is excited to announce the launch of our accessibility workshop series! Sessions will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. starting next week through the end of the year. Each virtual session will begin with 20-minute presentations on the topics listed below, followed by open office hours with our accessibility specialists. Bring your accessibility questions!

As we complete the first web content compliance deadline of the Consent Decree with the US Department of Justice (audio and video published since Dec. 2, 2022), we want to congratulate individuals, units and departments who have adopted digital accessibility practices and demonstrated their dedication to accessibility.

In the last few months, the response and engagement regarding audio and video accessibility has been positive and inspirational.  The Digital Accessibility Program wants to highlight a few amazing folks and say thank you for leading by example.
