Departments should be mindful of accessibility requirements related to digital products. All digital purchases must support accessible course content and comply with current UC Electronic Accessibility Policy and federal guidelines. Departments and faculty requesting reimbursements must adhere to Supply Chain Management guidelines regarding unauthorized purchases.
Supported Academic Technology Tools, Websites, and Digital Platforms
Departments and faculty are encouraged to utilize supported learning tools as outlined by Research, Teaching & Learning (RTL) to ensure accessibility and compatibility.
For websites, Berkeley IT supports OpenBerkeley and web hosting on Pantheon.
Note: Even when using approved platforms, accessibility depends heavily on the content creators. Berkeley website managers must follow established accessibility procedures to ensure website compliance. DAP's Accessibility Vendors webpage lists various tools that support web accessibility remediation.
