All digital product purchases must meet WCAG 2.1 AA. If you are requesting a reimbursement, please review the guidance for unauthorized purchases.

Supported Digital Products

These digital products are supported for UC Berkeley websites.

Learning Tools 

RTL provides an updated list of supported learning tools. These tools have been vetted for accessibility, privacy, and security. They are licensed for use by all of campus, and are backed by local resources and experts to help with their use.

We encourage departments and faculty members to use these tools.

Websites

Berkeley IT supports Open Berkeley and web hosting on Pantheon. 

Note: You are responsible for making sure the resources you add to your Open Berkeley website are accessible. Our Manual Testing for Content Owners and Accessibility Vendor support pages have more information on next steps. 

Unsupported Digital Products

These digital products are not supported for UC Berkeley websites. Learn more about Website Requirements.

  • No-code websites including:
    • Softr
    • Squarespace
    • Webflow
    • Weebly
    • Wix
  • Accessibility overlays and widgets. This includes any automated software claiming to detect or fix accessibility issues. Overlays promise site owners a quick fix for inaccessible websites, but they do not work as promised. Some examples include UserWay and accessiBe.

Reimbursement Policy for Unsupported Digital Products or Tools

You might not be reimbursed if you purchase unsupported digital products or tools.

If you are purchasing a digital product, you are responsible for making sure it is accessible. Our team can help provide guidance and accessibility reviews before you make a purchase.
