Testing for accessibility

There are several ways to test the accessibility of your content:

  • Automated accessibility checkers, such as WAVE or Siteimprove, can catch many (but not all) issues.
  • Manual accessibility testing checks for elements that automated checkers miss. Use the digital accessibility checklist to help you review your content for common accessibility issues.
  • User testing; ideally, you should have several people with a variety of disabilities attempt to complete critical tasks.
